Use Right Lighting for Fabulous Interior Colors

Whether you have moved to a new house or you want a change of your house, you may need first to look at a lot of photos of beautifully decorated homes to get some inspiration for your home decoration. If you need some ideas for gorgeous interior colors of your house, read on here to see how decorative lights and natural light can create the exact colors you love.

Color just changes in a room at different times of the whole day or in different seasons, say, this room with walls painted in gray. We can see some differences from different angles and placement. The natural light just changes in this room and different decorative lights, when we turn them on, may just change its look.

We can alter the color through lighting easily. If we choose the lights, such as halogen lights with temperature about 2,700 Kelvin, we can warm up the color of a room. For cooling down its color, we can use lights such as fluorescent ones with temperature about 4,000 Kelvin. We can also make the artificial lighting most close to natural light when they come with temperature between 5,000 to 6,000 Kelvin.

Then how to choose the light bulbs for the right color of our room?

There are too many light bulbs available in the market. We can choose the light with watts we need. But sometimes, watts can be hardly a good standard to define the output of a light because different lighting technologies apply different amounts of power to create the same light. We can turn to the kelvin rating if we want to see how warm or cool the light is. For warm light, choose the incandescent light bulbs which are most usually around 2,700 Kelvin.

Of course, some of the old incandescent lights which may heat our house rather than illuminate it are outlawed by the government. Those lights are gradually replaced by new efficient lights such as LED lights for they only convert 10% of electricity into light. But incandescent light is still available but in a more efficient package.

After we choose the lights of right kelvin ratings, we need to know how to best use the light because the way we use our light makes some effect on the colors of the room. For example, for the room with gold leaf walls, we can use bright LED lights for warm glow. Never mind to spend $20 on an LED light, it can last long and lost the least to illuminate our rooms. We can also choose those lights whose color can be adjusted with fixtures.

Take a look at the lighting of this bathroom. It is a great lighting option. The incandescent recessed lighting and LED lights together with the fluorescent light tubes placed behind the mirrors not only realize the maximum energy efficiency, but also make the color of the room right.

Still, never forget to make the best use of natural light. For right color of a room, we need to well control the natural light that enters a room. For large windows in the room, we can use some nice fiberglass panels which can flood a room with light without the glare.
