Entrance Lighting
For example, the recessed lighting for illuminating the ceiling, the skylight for inviting natural light at daytime, the cabinet lighting for removing dark spots, down lights for accenting some special areas or even lamps for general warm lighting.
Hallway Lighting
Hall lighting is also very important, which does not need to be very bright or luxurious, but has to be warm and special. We often do not choose to use pot lights or light tunnel in a ceiling at the hallway areas. We can use some surface mounted light fixtures. For balanced lighting and reducing dark spots, we need to control the number and placement of the lights. We can also use the recessed lights as night lighting and this is very necessary for family members to walk through the hallway to the bathrooms at night. Anyway, the lighting at the hallway should not create any glare.
Task Lighting
Most often, we associate the task lighting with kitchen areas. Kitchen needs task lighting for enough brightness to well perform task. But other rooms such as crafts rooms needs such lighting and we can use pendant lights, under cabinet light as the task lighting. Of course, we need to allow for more windows in such areas that involve a lot of tasks, especially at daytime because we can make the best use of natural light.
Closet Lighting
Most of us do not use closet lighting. But for the elderly or when we age, we will find the closet lighting necessary and useful. We can easily find the items in the closet when there is light. We can use LED lights which are efficient and will not create too much heat after long time use.
