Tips on Right Lighting for Home Decor

When it comes to home decor, most of us may consider furniture styles, colors or other adornment accessories. But what about lighting? Lighting is one of the essential elements to make a house home. The right decorative lighting can always make us feel safer and more comfortable. Decorative lights are not just for offering us brightness, but for creating a mood. Then how to create beautifully lit spaces with the right lights?

For living room, we first need to make the greatest use of the natural light and during the daytime, we just need very minimal lighting. For most families, living room is a place with multiple functions, say, spending leisurely time on watching TV, chatting, trying some hobbies, or even working there. The various purposes require us to apply various lighting options. For example, we can try central chandelier, the main decorative lighting. To add something extra, we can add some energy saving light bulbs, for example LED colored lights or use some halogen lights if you suffer from migraines.

Halls and stairways are the places that can be easily ignored by us for we do not spend too much time there. But for a cozy warm living atmosphere, we still need to add something unique to the places. Besides, for safety, the stairways should be well-lit. Place some string lights around the banister. For the hall, maybe a single pendant light can offer enough lighting.

Kitchen is a place that we do the cook there, and lighting here needs to be decorative and functional as well. Choose fluorescent lights for minimizing shadows there or add some strong recessed ceiling lights around the way. Besides, just place quality light near the work area such as oven, sink. 

Bedroom Lighting Choice
Bed room is the only room about our good sleep and dream. This room needs lighting, but sometimes during our sleep, no light at all. So how to decorate this room? Choose multiple lights, some cute lamps with dimmers by the bed, subtle lighting near the dressing table, a single pendulum light in the central room. Make sure the lighting here not to be harsh. Soft lighting just does much to calm us down and create cozy atmosphere.
